Wildflower Good as Gold Blend #7 - Tasting Notes

Wildflower Good as Gold Blend #7 - Tasting Notes

We are excited to announce that Wildflower Good as Gold Blend #7 will be available online and for take-away/collection from 12pm (Sydney time) on Wednesday 8 April 2020

Good as Gold is a 50/50 blend of barrel aged Gold with fresh Gold that has just completed primary fermentation. This blend is composed of barrels 1742 (19 month old Gold) and 1804 (10 month old Gold) equally blended with the 55th batch of Gold we brewed on the last day of 2019.

This blend, in our opinion, achieves the full potential of what a beer like this can be. Fresh hop, cut grass and lime juice aromas flow into the palate with a fresh carbonation and fermentation spice all backed up by a moreish creaminess from the aged components. This is a standout blend of this beer for sure.

The base beer is brewed entirely with New South Wales cereals: Single Origin (S.O.) Moree, NSW grown Gairdner ale malt and North Star, NSW grown Spitfire S.O. raw wheat thanks to Provenance Malt. It is made with filtered Sydney water and Motueka (NZ) and Saaz (CZ) hops. Finally, it was fermented with our house culture: brewers yeast, foraged wild yeast and naturally occurring souring bacteria native to New South Wales. It was bottled on 16 January 2020 and naturally conditioned through refermentation for 12 weeks. At bottling it was 5.0% ABV, 25 IBU and 1.0°P (FG= 1.004 SG).

Like all our beers, Good as Gold Blend #7 is best enjoyed when decanted off a settled natural yeast sediment at cellar temperatures (10-12°C).
