Village

The seeds of Village were planted many years ago when Topher and Bernadette (Wildflower) and the founders of Mountain Culture, DJ and Harriet, met and bonded over the most approachable and plebeian of fermented beverages: beer.

Since then, we have shared knowledge, space, equipment, Christmas lunch, kids hand-me-downs, and of course… many beers. So it’s no surprise that we would end up sharing a taproom because while our breweries produce different styles of beer, what underpins both businesses is the same: a true dedication to work stupidly hard for the perfect beer and a desire to see that beer enjoyed by you, the people.

Enter Village.

Here you’ll find 10 tap lines that best pour and exhibit Mountain Culture beers without affecting the specifically designed 10 taps for Wildflower's beers. Five of the taps also have specific ‘side pull' taps imported from the Czech republic in order for you to experience the full breadth of the warmth and mouthfeel of lagers.

You’ll also find our ongoing ‘rustic’ lager collaboration which serves to allow us to play around and explore lager-making techniques long lost with the 'efficiencies' of commercial lager production and modernised equipment.

Since 2021 and into perpetuity, once-a-year we share our beer of the same name, Village, brewed at Mountain Culture’s Katoomba brewpub and exposed to the Blue Mountains night time air, honouring the Belgian lambic tradition we both love. Keep an eye out for it mid-year.

Our goal here is to highlight beer’s variety and diverse histories while exploring the limits of our crafts independently.

Thank you for stopping by.

Our kitchen is taken over from time to time for pop-ups so do keep an eye on our socials for upcoming events.
