Wildflower Good as Gold Blend #10 - Tasting Notes

Wildflower Good as Gold Blend #10 - Tasting Notes

We are excited to announce that Wildflower Good as Gold Blend #10 will be available online and for take-away/collection from 12pm (Sydney time) on Friday 2 October 2020

Good as Gold is a 50/50 blend of barrel aged Gold with fresh Gold that has just completed primary fermentation. This blend is composed of barrels 1711 (17 month old Gold), 1807 (21 month old Gold) and 1855 (18 month old Gold) equally blended with the 69th batch of Gold brewed in May 2020.

A really nice blend. Initial aromas of candied lemon and white flower transition to a nose dominant with sweet spice, cumin and ginger. Soft vanilla oak and funky notes add layers. The palate is lively and bright. Citrus dominant but with notable hoppy spice, beautiful. Nice harmony between the bitterness and acidity.

The base beer is brewed entirely with New South Wales cereals: Single Origin (S.O.) Riverina NSW grown Schooner ale malt and Coleambally NSW grown organic Red raw wheat thanks to Voyager Malt & Chris and Sam Greenwood. It is made with filtered Sydney water and Motueka (NZ) and Saaz (CZ) hops. Finally, it was fermented with our house culture: brewers yeast, foraged wild yeast and naturally occurring souring bacteria native to New South Wales. It was bottled on 10 June 2020 and naturally conditioned through refermentation for 16 weeks. At bottling it was 5.0% ABV, 25 IBU and 1.1°P (FG= 1.004 SG).

Like all our beers, Good as Gold Blend #10 is best enjoyed when decanted off a settled natural yeast sediment at cellar temperatures (10-12°C).
