Wildflower Amber Blend #29 - Tasting Notes

Wildflower Amber Blend #29 - Tasting Notes

We are excited to announce that Wildflower Amber Blend #29 will be available online and for take-away/collection from 12pm (Sydney time) on Friday 4 December 2020.

Amber is a blended, barrel aged Australian Wild Ale. Amber Blend #29 is a blend of six barrels - 1739 (24 month old Amber), 1745 (27 month old Amber), 1749 (8 month old Amber), 1757 (9 month old Amber), 1822 (26 month old Amber) and 1919 (5 month old Amber).

Immediate rum and raisin aromas that move into soft oak and cocoa nibs. Well balanced palate without malt or acid taking centre stage. Very moreish red fruit, baked bread, black cherry and tobacco flavours. Reminiscent of Blend #20. Lots of energy and life, great for a summertime Amber.

The base beer is brewed entirely with Organic cereals from Chris and Sam Greenwood's farm in Coleambally NSW. Organic raw Red wheat with Organic Schooner barley malted to Munich, Vienna and chocolate roasts by Voyager Craft MaltIt is made with filtered Sydney water and Saaz (CZ) hops. Finally, it was fermented with our house culture: brewers yeast, foraged wild yeast and naturally occurring souring bacteria native to New South Wales. It was bottled on 26 August 2020 and naturally conditioned through refermentation for 14 weeks. At bottling it was 6.0% ABV, 18 IBU and 1.9°P (FG = 1.008 SG).

Like all our beers, Amber Blend #29 is best enjoyed when decanted off a settled natural yeast sediment at cellar temperatures (10-12°C).

Enjoy.
