Good as Gold Blend #15 - Tasting Notes

Good as Gold Blend #15 - Tasting Notes

Wildflower Good as Gold Blend #15 will be available online and for take-away/collection from 12pm (Sydney time) on Friday 5 November 2021.

Good as Gold is a 50/50 blend of barrel aged Gold with fresh Gold that has just completed primary fermentation. This blend is composed of two barrels, 1776 (15 month old Gold) and 1818 (20 month old Gold) equally blended with the 107/108th batch of Gold brewed in early June 2021.

Blend #15 is full of yellow citrus zest, woody spice, attractive vanillin and spicy oak. A serious Good as Gold palate, structured and with depth. Intense citrus overriding some delicious spice and subtle oak. Noticeably more complexity across the palate but finishing ultra clean and refreshing.

The base beer is brewed entirely with New South Wales cereals: Single Origin (S.O.) Riverina NSW grown Schooner ale malt and Coleambally NSW grown organic Red raw wheat thanks to Voyager Malt and Chris and Sam Greenwood. It is made with filtered Sydney water and Motueka (NZ) and Saaz (CZ) hops. Finally, it was fermented with our house culture: brewers yeast, foraged wild yeast and naturally occurring souring bacteria native to New South Wales. It was bottled on 17 June 2021 and naturally conditioned through refermentation for 20 weeks. At bottling it was 5.0% ABV, 25 IBU and 1.3°P (FG= 1.004 SG).

Like all our beers, Good as Gold Blend #15 is best enjoyed when decanted off a settled natural yeast sediment at cellar temperatures (10-12°C).
