Good as Gold Blend #13 - Tasting Notes

We are excited to announce that Wildflower Good as Gold Blend #13 will be available online and for take-away/collection from 12pm (Sydney time) on Friday 4 June, 2021.

Good as Gold is a 50/50 blend of barrel aged Gold with fresh Gold that has just completed primary fermentation. This blend is composed of two barrels 1715 (12 month old Gold) and 1803 (10 month old Gold) equally blended with the 92nd batch of Gold brewed in December 2020.

Blend #13 has aromas of citrus and oak spice but with a surprising funky note, soft vanilla and melon in support. The palate is light and effervescent.... Touches of citrus, spice and grain. Extremely refreshing and enjoyable. 

The base beer is brewed entirely with New South Wales cereals: Single Origin (S.O.) Riverina NSW grown Schooner ale malt and Coleambally NSW grown organic Red raw wheat thanks to Voyager Malt and Chris and Sam Greenwood. It is made with filtered Sydney water and Motueka (NZ) and Saaz (CZ) hops. Finally, it was fermented with our house culture: brewers yeast, foraged wild yeast and naturally occurring souring bacteria native to New South Wales. It was bottled on 15 December 2020 and naturally conditioned through refermentation for 24 weeks. At bottling it was 5.0% ABV, 25 IBU and 1.3°P (FG= 1.004 SG).

Like all our beers, Good as Gold Blend #13 is best enjoyed when decanted off a settled natural yeast sediment at cellar temperatures (10-12°C).
