Kernel Stone 2023 is a golden barrel aged ale wholly fermented by a diversity of yeasts and bacteria collected from native flowers from NSW refermented with plumcots from Yarralee Orchard in Bathurst, NSW.

So glad to have this one back. The 2022 fruit did not set at Yarralee so we were unable to make the beer last year. Back in luck in '23 though.

So much about tasting this year's batch has reminded me why this stone fruit cross (plumcot = pluot = plum x apricot) is one of my favourite fruits we work with. It's fleshy with plenty of texture, it's soft in acidity, bright in moments but overall very well balanced. When I think about my ideal balance of texture, softness in acidity and fruit character... Kernel Stone comes to mind.

Meesh's tasting notes: A stunning peachy pink beverage with a candy nose, all berries and apricot with a hint of rich vanillin. On the palate it is all fruit, almost watermelon-esque in its bright, refreshing vigour. A classic sherberty acidity finishes off the experience. Absolute park juice.
