Amber Blend #33 - Tasting Notes

Amber Blend #33 - Tasting Notes

Wildflower Amber Blend #33 will be available online and for take-away/collection from 12pm (Sydney time) on Friday 3 December 2021.

Amber is a blended, barrel aged Australian Wild Ale. Amber Blend #33 is a blend of four barrels - 1809 (8 month old Amber), 1801 (26 month old Amber), 1846 (8 month old Amber) and 1733 (13 month old Amber).

Amber Blend #33 has a very attractive aroma, bold spice, cinnamon quills and nutmeg. Toasted fruit loaf, gentle chocolate notes and dark muscovado. Sweet through the palate, cereal and malt to the fore. Deep with rich textures, reserved acidity and a nutty finish.

The base beer is brewed entirely with certified organic cereals from Chris and Sam Greenwood's farm in Coleambally NSW. Organic raw Red wheat with Organic Schooner barley malted to Munich, Vienna and chocolate roasts by Voyager Craft MaltIt is made with filtered Sydney water and Saaz (CZ) hops. Finally, it was fermented with our house culture: brewers yeast, foraged wild yeast and naturally occurring souring bacteria native to New South Wales. It was bottled on 30 June 2021 and naturally conditioned through refermentation for 22 weeks. At bottling it was 6.0% ABV, 18 IBU and 2.2°P (FG = 1.009 SG).

Like all our beers, Amber Blend #33 is best enjoyed when decanted off a settled natural yeast sediment at cellar temperatures (10-12°C).

Enjoy.
