Amber Blend #32 - Tasting Notes

Amber Blend #32 - Tasting Notes

Wildflower Amber Blend #32 will be available online and for take-away/collection from 12pm (Sydney time) on Friday 3 September 2021.

Amber is a blended, barrel aged Australian Wild Ale. Amber Blend #32 is a blend of five barrels - 1720 (29 month old Amber), 1755 (12 month old Amber), 1830 (6 month old Amber), 1831 (24 month old Amber) and 1910 (24 month old Amber).

Amber Blend #32 has a lovey nose of gentle brambly fruit and dark chocolate with warm cooking spice and oak supporting. Elements of brown sugar and maple sweetness. Palate has an immediate depth and rich intensity that becomes savoury and earthy. Cereal, spice and oak form the back palate that flows to a nutty conclusion.

The base beer is brewed entirely with certified organic cereals from Chris and Sam Greenwood's farm in Coleambally NSW. Organic raw Red wheat with Organic Schooner barley malted to Munich, Vienna and chocolate roasts by Voyager Craft MaltIt is made with filtered Sydney water and Saaz (CZ) hops. Finally, it was fermented with our house culture: brewers yeast, foraged wild yeast and naturally occurring souring bacteria native to New South Wales. It was bottled on 7 April 2021 and naturally conditioned through refermentation for 21 weeks. At bottling it was 6.0% ABV, 18 IBU and 2.2°P (FG = 1.009 SG).

Like all our beers, Amber Blend #32 is best enjoyed when decanted off a settled natural yeast sediment at cellar temperatures (10-12°C).

Enjoy.
