Wildflower The International Batch #2 - Tasting notes

Wildflower The International Batch #2 - Tasting notes

The International (Batch #2) will be available at our cellar door and online (at 2pm) on December, 7 2018.

The International is a collaboration ale fermented in oak barrels and hopped with Hallertau Blanc. Its recipe was designed by the Saison, Bière de Garde & Farmhouse Ale Appreciation Society Facebook Group and brewed independently at 10 breweries in 8 countries using local ingredients and individual house cultures. Our first version was brewed earlier this year an can be read about here.

We decided to re-brew this beer because we really loved it, oh and also one of our friends at the newly opened Poly wanted it back on tap! This second batch is largely the same except sees a more complex dry-hopping schedule that included the addition of Huell Melon alongside Motueka and Hallertau Blanc.

At release, it has a dominant hop character on the nose, rich tropical fruit and melon supported by subtle citrus and spice. The palate is intense bursting with stone fruit and juicy citrus. A higher bitterness gives the palate an abrupt finish which makes you desperate for the next sip. A slightly more tropical fruity take on the International.  Pint worthy once again!

Like all our beers The International is best enjoyed when decanted off a settled natural yeast sediment at cellar temperatures (8-10°C).
