Zibeerbo 2022 - Wildflower x Brash Higgins Collaboration

Zibeerbo is a golden barrel-matured ale aged with Muscat of Alexandria (Zibibbo) skins after six months in terracotta amphora from our friends at Brash Higgins, McLaren Vale SA. 

An ale made with Zibbibo skins from Brash Higgins. Brad and I have made 5 (now released 4) vintages of Zibeerbo. It's so cool (and rare) to have that kind of collaborative longevity. For this 2022 cuvee, we took a different approach and left the beer on skins for just one month. The results speak for themself! The acid line is still higher than, say, a Gold blend, but thats to be expected from these skins beers, however it's in check... the brightness and sweetness of the Muscat needs some acid to get reigned in. Broader and fuller than previous blends. Soft gentle acidity that runs the length of the palate. Finishes with a vinous citrus acidity. Delicious!

Luke's tasting notes - Huge aromas, candied citrus, apricots and melon dominate the nose. There’s spice, orange peel and a nutty savoury element alongside a funky edge. Broader and fuller than previous blends. There’s a soft gentle acidity that runs the palate. The fruit expression is stonefruit and skinsy spice but still has amazing length and finishes with a vinous citrus acidity.
