Set 2026 is an ale aged with Organic rhubarb and Organic blood oranges. The ale was brewed with Organic barley and Organic wheat wholly fermented by a diversity of yeasts and bacteria collected from native flowers from NSW before resting aged for 1.5 years in puncheon until it was macerated with 70kg of Organic rhubarb stalks from Block 11 Organics in Orange, NSW. Following maceration, the ale was macerated with fresh Organic blood oranges again from Block 11 before bottling.
It was bottled with raw, unheated Blue Mountains Polyflora wild honey from naturally formed, bee-friendly Warré hives from Tim and Emma Malfroy and allowed to naturally condition and carbonate before release.
Made exclusively for The Collective.
Label artwork by Bernadette,
Finally, a year where we caught the blood oranges. It seems most years when our minds switch to this Rhubarb beer we've missed the blood orange season... however, this year with a bit better planning... and a lucky message from Greg at Block 11, we were able to catch both the crops we really wanted for this beer.
Dry, pithy, intense citrus bitterness to backend the sweeter orange overtones. Not as much colour as last year but it makes up for it in concentrated flavour.
