Forces of Nature is not a second use fruit beer. Akin to Titaness, its is a blend of whole, primary refermentation fruits into a single beer. This bottling blends together two of our favourite fruits from the 2020 St's, namely the ebony sun plums from St Phoebe and white peaches from Abigail. A stonefruit showcase.

Since making Titaness last year, we have been pondering about combinations of fruits. I'll admit that I'm a little stoic and dogmatically prefer single fruit expressions over blends... for better or for worse. However this year, Chase and Luke wanted to see something like this and I was outvoted. We bottled this cuvee in September 2020 giving it an extended maceration on the fruit before bottling (up to 8 months) which I think is certainly evident in the result.

Poppy raspberry and strawberry aromas dominate before spice and sweet peach notes move through. Palate is peach forward, sweet and textual. Plum structure brings tightness and drive. Delicate flavours of plum, watermelon and sherbety strawberry acidity to close. Very tasty moreish beer.

The artwork on the bottle is a photo I took of Simpsons Creek, a tidal brackish (by definition) estuary in Brunswick Heads, NSW from when Benny and I were on holiday with the kids late last year. Every day I sat on the porch and watched the rise and fall of this water... that was about the most important thing we had on.
