If Cuvée des Jonquilles is not the best beer you will ever have consumed, I will be very surprised. Au Baron famously describes their pale beers as biere de garde... but they've been doing it before the idea of a 'style' saison was penned... so who is wrong?? Them or the style guides?
Description from the Au Baron website:
The best known of our beers. The Cuvée des Jonquilles is the whole grove of Avesnois in one bottle! [l'Avesnois is a national park local to the brewery] Golden like wheat! Scented like hay! It's the one you need to always have cool when your friends come home. The blonde Cuvée des Jonquilles has a slightly cloudy pale golden colour. A very refreshing and digestible palate, aromas both citrus and floral. The bitterness is both subtle and sophisticated, supported by the yeast.
